Anupam Roy bids adieu to Srijit Mukherji-Dev’s Tekka — here is what the musician has to say

Srijit Mukherji has teamed up with Dev’s production house for his Puja release, Tekka. Besides the superstar, the film also features Swastika Mukherjee, Tota Roychowdhury, Rukmini Maitra, and others. The shooting is over and the post-production of the film is on. During the process, the music director of the film suddenly got changed.

Anupam Roy was set to compose the music of the film since its inception. However, in a recent development, Anupam bade adieu to the project and another composer Ranojoy Bhattacharya got in. When we called Anupam, he admitted that he left the project and wished the team all the best.
While talking to OTTplay, Anupam said, “I had a conversation with Dev (who is also the producer). There is a budget problem. I take a certain amount of remuneration and that was not being met. I can totally understand. Dev told me, ‘We'll surely work on some other project’. I wish their team all the best.”

Recently, Swastika shared a photograph with Dev on her social media. In the photo, the actress is seen wearing a blue salwar suit. Her hair is cropped. She poses with Dev, who is in a great T-shirt. She captioned it, “Our favourite hero, Dev.” Dev seemed to have impressed her with his acting skills in Tekka.
Meanwhile, Anupam has composed music for three films — Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy’s Amar Boss and Bohurupee and Sayantan Ghosal’s Mrs Sengupta, and all of them will be released soon. The singer-composer-lyricist started his career as a music director in 2010 with Srijit Mukherjis’s debut, Autograph. His music created a sensation in the Bengali film music scene. In 2015, he made his Bollywood debut, composing the songs and score for Piku. He bagged a number of significant awards for his work in the film. Besides, he also bagged the Best Lyrics for the song Tumi Jaake Bhalobasho at the 64th National Film Award. In fact, Iman Chakraborty received the Best Singer (Female) award for this song.
