Bollywood actor Anupam Kher will be making his Malayalam comeback with Dileep’s latest movie Voice of Sathyanathan, which is currently being filmed in Mumbai. The movie, directed by Raffi, marks the veteran actor’s first Malayalam project in close to nine years.

Voice of Sathyanathan, which began its second schedule in Mumbai earlier this month, also has Joju George and Veena Nandakumar as part of the cast. The film will also have a schedule in Delhi, the director had earlier told us.

The movie, which is touted to be a realistic entertainer, has Dileep playing a village-based youth who aims at pleasing people. ““This actually has a serious subject. While it is laced with humour elements, it’s not a full-length comedy. But it can be slotted as a family entertainer,” Raffi had earlier told us. Raffi had previously scripted Dileep’s superhits such as Two Countries, Punjabi House and Thenkasipattanam.

The first schedule of Voice of Sathyanathan began last year and was completely shot in Palakkad and Ernakulam. Joju George had completed his portions in the movie during the schedule.

Anupam Kher’s role in the film is yet to be revealed. The Kashmir Files actor had previously starred in Malayalam movies such as Mohanlal’s Indrajaalam and Pranayam and was last seen in a cameo role in Blessy’s Kalimannu. He was also part of Nayana.

Meanwhile, Anupam Kher has also signed his 529th film with director Neeraj Pandey, whom he had earlier worked with in MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, A Wednesday and Special 26. The actor is also part of the Telugu period film Tiger Nageswara Rao, which has Ravi Teja playing the titular role of a notorious thief. The movie is helmed by Abhishek Agarwal.

The actor is also collaborating with Malayalam director VK Prakash for the Hindi remake of Asif Ali-starrer Nirnayakam, which is titled Kaagaz 2.
