C Elamaran aka 'Blue Shirt' Maran is a popular name among Tamil movie buffs as a YouTuber who has been doing film reviews for almost a decade. His scathing reviews of poorly made films have earned him many enemies in the movie industry. His announcement of turning a filmmaker a while ago had left his followers and critics surprised.

The movie, which was titled Anti Indian courted controversies for several scenes, characters and dialogues in it, and was initially rejected by Censor Board. Later, he faced discouraging response from revising committee, too, after which he approached the Madras High Court, from where he received a positive verdict.

The film's trailer has now been released on his YouTube channel. The two-and-a-half minute trailer, restricted to adults, unsurprisingly, makes fun of the three prominent religions in our country, a few opportunist and communal leaders, prevailing freebie culture and a superstar who refrained from making a plunge into politics after mulling over his entry for several years. Interestingly, the film's plot revolves around the death of a person (played by Maran himself) who participates in political rallies and how the three religions fight against each other over burying his body.

Adukalam Naren, Vazhaku En 18/9 fame Muthuraman and Radha Ravi among others play pivotal roles in the movie which has Sudharson handing editing and Maran himself composing music, apart from writing screenplay and dialogues. Produced by Adam Bava, the release date of Anti Indian is yet to be announced. Movie buffs who are eagerly waiting for the film, which has been certified U/A certificate recently, are looking forward to know about the release plan of its makers. Many opine on social media that the movie is highly likely to have an OTT release, though we hear that the makers are keen on having a theatrical release.
