The movie has National Award-winner Surabhi Lakshmi playing the titular character
Despite being seen in just a cameo role in #Home this year, Anoop Menon has been keeping himself busy since the pandemic. While the actor’s directorial debut King Fish is yet to release, he had completed the shoot of his second directorial Padma, scripted Varaal and shot for 21 Grams and Pathonpatham Noottaandu.
The actor, who has revealed a few delightful glimpses from Padma starring Surabhi Lakshmi and himself in the lead, is now gearing up for the film’s release. While the release platform is yet to be announced, the movie could be his first directorial project to drop ahead of King Fish.
Padma revolves around Surabhi’s titular character, who hails from a rustic background, and finds it tough to adjust to the contrasting lifestyle after she gets married to a wealthy man with a modern mindset.
Anoop, meanwhile, has recently wrapped up shooting for the political drama Varaal, which is directed by Kannan Thamarakkulam. The movie, which has him, Prakash Raj, Renji Panicker and Sunny Wayne in the lead, has the actor playing a politician. He is also part of Kannan’s upcoming theatrical release Vidhi, which is based on the 2020 Maradu flat demolition.
He will also be seen as King of Travancore Ayilyam Thirunal in director Vinayan’s period drama Pathonpatham Noottaandu, which has Siju Wilson playing the lead character of Arattupuzha Velayudha Panicker. Anoop also plays a crime branch officer in the upcoming investigative thriller 21 Grams, directed by debutant Bibin Krishna.
