Annmary Tom will be seen in Aritra Banerjee’s Eklavya
Annmary Tom became a household name after playing the key character in Gramer Rani Binapani with Honey Bafna. Now the actress is all set to debut on the big screen.
We all remember Ekalavya in Mahabharata. His skills and aim are at par with Arjuna. However, he was asked to pay blood price – his thumb – as gurudakshina to Dronacharya. As a result, he could not aim anymore. Is today's Eklavya similarly devoted to his mentor? Director Aritra Banerjee will give the answer in his upcoming film Eklavya. The television heroine Annmary Tom will make her debut on the big screen with this film. Debtanu will play the titular role. The film will be released on August 15.
The web film's trailer shows that the story will show romance and action parallelly. Jammy Bandyopadhyay and Mrityunjoy Bhattacharya will play other roles. Syed Ahmed Shawki of Karagar and Taqdeer's fame will present the film, which will be released on Aritra's Youtube.
Aritra said, “A supari killer is at the centre of the film. He gets an order to kill a girl but instead, he falls in love with her. Can he murder the girl? For many days, no commercial film has been made in Bengal. This film is low budget. I tried to portray the ‘larger-than-life’ vibe of commercial films. Hopefully, the audience will like it.”
