Nandini Reddy is the director of the film produced by the makers of Mahanati and Sita Ramam
Family dramas never go out of vogue in Telugu cinema - the genre demands filmmakers to repackage the ‘been there seen that’ story according to the changing tastes of audiences. Who better than Nandini Reddy to do that? After Ala Modalaindi, Jabardasth, Kalyana Vaibhogame and Oh Baby, her next feature film is a feel-good family entertainer, Anni Manchi Sakunamule.
The film starring Santosh Soban, Malvika Nair in the lead is produced by Priyanka Dutt under Swapna Cinema in collaboration with Mitravinda Movies. Set for a release in the coming weekend on May 18, the drama is expected to attract family crowds to theatres after a lull. After making an impression with the teaser, songs and other promos, the makers unveiled the trailer today.
Jr NTR launched the glimpse through his Twitter handle, where he wrote, “Happy to share the trailer of #AnniManchiSakunamule! All the best to my dear friend Swapna who pours her heart into making new and creative stories and Priyanka and Nandini Garu for bringing this refreshing story to life. Best wishes to the entire cast and crew.”
The glimpse lives upto expectations, delivering exactly what the genre promises and leaves you with a wide grin. The trailer starts with a few family disputes, discussions around a wedding and introduces you to a few peculiar characters, scenarios while shifting its focus to a tale surrounding two childhood sweethearts. It takes you through their ego tussles, highs and lows in their relationships and how they tolerate the various storms in their lives.
The ensemble cast comprising Rajendra Prasad, Rao Ramesh, Naresh, Gauthami, Sowcar Janaki, and Vasuki add sheen to the glimpse with their presence. Anni Manchi Sakunamule, whose aesthetics remind you of Kapoor and Sons, promises to be a lively, vibrant mix of romance, family sentiments, humour, drama and more. Mickey J Meyer scores the music.
