Nandini Reddy directed the film jointly produced by Swapna Cinema and Mitravinda Movies
Nandini Reddy, known for her comedies and feel-good entertainers like Ala Modalaindi, Oh Baby, Kalyana Vaibhogame, was back this summer with a new film titled Anni Manchi Sakunamule. Santosh Soban, Malvika Nair played the lead roles in the family dramedy that hit theatres on May 18. The film was bankrolled by Priyanka Dutt under Swapna Cinema and Mitravinda Movies.
After its brief theatrical run, Anni Manchi Sakunamule is coming to OTT. Leading streaming platform Amazon Prime Video has bagged the post theatrical digital rights of the film and has announced its premiere date today. The film will be out on June 17, this Saturday. It is arriving digitally exactly a month after its theatrical release, when it met with a moderate response at the ticket window.
“An intense tale of love that challenges a longstanding family rivalry #AnniManchiSakunamule, June 17,” the streaming platform announced the same this morning. Rajendra Prasad, Rao Ramesh, Naresh, Gauthami, Sowcar Janaki, Vasuki, Vennela Kishore, Ramya Subramanian, Anju Alva Naik, Urvasi, Ashwin Kumar played other important roles in the film predominantly shot in Coonoor.
The story is set in a sleepy-little hamlet Victoriapuram, where Sudhakar and Prasad, belonging to two rival families are entangled in a bitter legal battle. While Sudhakar fathers a baby boy, Prasad’s wife births a girl. Owing to an unexpected confusion at a hospital, the babies are interchanged by the nurses. Many years later, the grownup kids - Rishi and Aarya - are inseparable buddies with contrasting ambitions. Will their family feud threaten their future together?
Anni Manchi Sakunamule will stream in India and across 240 countries and territories worldwide in Telugu in addition to the dubbed versions in Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. Sunny Kurapati, Richard Prasad cranked the camera for the film which had music by Mickey J Meyer.
