Starring Nayanthara and Jai in lead roles, here's what Twitteratis feel after watching the food-drama.
The Nayanthara-starrer, which was released on December 1, revolves around her titular character, Annapoorani. She hails from an orthodox upper-caste family and aspires to become a chef. But when she realises that this might involve cooking meat, which is forbidden in her family, she keeps her passion a secret. However, her secret is revealed after an accident. Speaking about Nayanthara's character in the film, director Nilesh said in an interview, “Annapoorani is the story of an upper-caste girl who hails from an orthodox family. She wants to become a chef. The film centres around her struggle in the male-dominated culinary world, where she has to cook non-vegetarian dishes as well.”
The cast and crew of Annapoorani
Nayanthara and Jai, who last shared screen space in the 2013 blockbuster film Raja Rani, reunite on screen after 10 years for Annapoorani. Interestingly, according to director Nilesh, it was Nayanthara who recommended bringing Jai on board. “Nayanthara ma’am suggested that Jai play the role of Farhaan in the film," said Nilesh.
