Anjan Dutt is all set to pay tribute to his ‘mentor’ Mrinal Sen with Chalchitra Ekhon

This is Mrinal Sen’s birth centenary and Bengal directors, including Anjan Dutt, Srijit Mukherji, and Kaushik Ganguly, are paying tribute to the maestro. While Srijit has completed Mrinal Sen’s biopic, Padatik and Kaushik will make a film to pay tribute to Kharij, Anjan will tell a different story, Chalchitra Ekhon. He has been giving updates for the last few days. Now he announced that he is at the last phase of the post-production.

Anjan has made many offbeat films that were liked by the audience. Madly Bangalee, The Bong Connection, Chalo Let’s Go, Dutta Vs Dutta and his other films were well-liked by the audience and critics alike. Now he will again change his track and tell a different story, as he announced in his post.

Anjan posted his photo with Mrinal Sen and wrote, “I am at the last stage of my film Chalchitra Ekhan. My son Neel Dutt and I have produced the film. I think this is my most spontaneous film so far. I did not tell an imaginary story. I portrayed all my tales with this person. I know many people may not like the film, but some are still there who may like it. Though they are few, the number is big for me.”

The musician-director further wrote, “I knew that no producer would agree to produce this film. They did not watch any of Mrinal Sen’s movies. They might have made us exaggerate something, which we could not. Hence we produced the film, being honest to ourselves.”
