Anjali to star in a web series titled Jhansi; the action drama will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar

Anjali is the latest south actress to join the web series bandwagon. She will be seen essaying an action-oriented role in the series, titled Jhansi. Tipped as an action drama, the project which will have director Thiru at the helm, will be produced by actor Krishna under the banner Tribal Horse Entertainment.

Mumaith Khan, Kalyan Master, Raj Arjun, Sharanya and Samyuktha Hornad among others will be seen essaying key characters in the Telugu project which will have a release on Disney+ Hotstar. Arvind cranks the camera for the series for which Yannick Ben (The Family Man fame) will choreograph action sequences.

Anjali had earlier associated with OTT projects twice; Paava Kadhaigal and Navarasa two Tamil anthologies, in which she was part of, had dropped on Netflix in 2020 and 2021 respectively. The actress was last seen in the Tollywood movie Vakeel Saab (streaming on Amazon Prime Video) which released earlier this year.

Actor Krishna, who is known for Tamil films like Kazhugu and Maari 2 turned a producer with Amala Akkineni-starrer web series, High Priestess, a Zee5 original, which released in 2019. As an actor, he has Bell Bottom (remake of Sandalwod movie of the same title) and Rayar Parambarai awaiting releases.

According to the makers, Anjali will be seen in a full-length action-packed role for the first time in her career. They announced that more details on the project will be updates soon. An excited Thiru, who is jumping on the OTT bandwagon, took to social media to express the excitement.

He tweeted, "For the first time doing a Web Series for @DisneyPlusHS #TeluguSpecials with @yoursanjali Produced by @Actor_Krishna (sic)." Thiru's last outing in Tamil was Mr Chandramouli (streaming on Netflix), which had Karthik, Gautham Karthik and Regina in lead roles.
