Filmmaker musician Anindya Chattopadhyay, composer Debojyori Mishra, singer Jonaki Mukhopadhyay and others gathered at a city cafe to celebrate the centenary of the iconic Rabindrasangeet, Tomay Gaan Shonabo. Rabindranath Tagore composed the song on March 13, 1923. Dinendranath Tagore was the notator of the song that is based on Pilu raga and Dadra taal. The love song was first published in Shantiniketan Patrika.

At the event, the song, arranged by Deboyoti and sung by Jonaki Mukhopadhyay was released. Besides, a special initiative was taken to release My Stamp – a special feature of the Indian Post – to commemorate the centenary celebration. Debojyoti also announced to kickstart his production house on the day.

Jonaki said, “The music video of this song captures the memories of my childhood. It feels good to release my song on the centenary year of the iconic song.”

Meanwhile, Anindya said, “No doubt we take refuge in Rabindranath’s songs again and again whenever we need to. It is indeed a very different occasion to celebrate the centenary of such a legendary song. And best wishes to Deboyoti Mishra as he starts his production house with this song.”
