Animal has emerged as a box office winner! Helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film has set the cash register ringing. Starring Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles, the film has worked wonders at the box office. Despite polarising reactions, Animal has turned out to be one of the highest-grossing movies of 2023. As of today, the film has crossed the ₹650 crore mark globally.
Animal worldwide box office collection
The makers of Animal have shared the official worldwide box office figures on X. Within 9 days of its theatrical run, the Ranbir Kapoor starrer has minted ₹660.89 crore (gross) at the ticket window. It is inching closer to crossing ₹700 crore mark at the worldwide box office.
In India, the Sandeep Reddy Vanga movie is all set to enter the ₹400 crore club. Considering the 9th-day collection, Animal has earned ₹398.63 crore at the box office.
Animal gets a sequel
Towards the end of Animal, the makers teased the second installment of the film. It has been tentatively titled Animal Park. Ranbir is expected to have a double role in the film whereas his mother, Neetu Kapoor, might join him in Animal Park. On the other hand, Triptii Dimri, who played the role of Zoya, is likely to have more screen time in the film.
Animal beats Sanju
Meanwhile, Animal shattered Sanju's lifetime global box office record. The lifetime collection of the 2018 film is ₹586.85 while the Vanga directorial surpassed the ₹600 crore mark on day 8 itself. Interestingly, Animal turned out to be Ranbir's biggest opening film with a collection of ₹63.80 crore.
On the work front for Ranbir
Before Animal hit the silver screen, Ranbir was seen in Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. Helmed by Luv Ranjan, the film was released on March 8, 2023. Ranbir shared screen space with Shraddha Kapoor in the romantic comedy film. It did fairly well at the box office.
