Animal shatters Sanju's box office record; mints ₹600 crore globally
Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal hit the big screen on December 1, 2023. The Ranbir Kapoor starrer has shattered his 2018 film Sanju's worldwide box office record.

Ranbir Kapoor is basking in the glory of Animal's success. The actor plays the lead role in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's movie. Although the film clashed with Vicky Kaushal's Sam Bahadur, Animal has emerged as a box office winner. The film entered the ₹300 crore club in India. As far as the global box office is concerned, the Ranbir Kapoor starrer has reached the ₹600 crore club. With this, the film has shattered Ranbir's 2018 film Sanju's lifetime worldwide box office collection record.
Animal BEATS Sanju at the worldwide box office
Within 8 days of its theatrical release, Sandeep's film, Animal, earned ₹600.67 crore (gross) at the worldwide box office. On the other hand, Ranbir's 2018 movie, Sanju, collected ₹586.85 crore (gross). Needless to say, Ranbir's film, Animal, is a money-making machine. Despite polarising reactions, the film is doing tremendously well in terms of box office numbers.
Animal gets a sequel
Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that the second installment of Animal will be made. Tentatively titled Animal Park, the film will have Ranbir playing a double role.

It has been reported that Triptii Dimri, who played the role of Zoya, will have more screen time in Animal Park. The actress had a limited screen presence in the first part, which was released on December 1, 2023.

Sandeep's Animal revolves around a man going to any extent to avenge a deadly attack on his father. Anil Kapoor plays the role of Ranbir's father, Balbir Singh, in the movie. On the other hand, Bobby Deol played the part of the main antagonist, Abrar. However, some people are disappointed with Deol's limited screen presence in the Vanga directorial. Having said that, Bobby has earned massive positive feedback for his performance in the movie. Once the movie's theatrical run ends it is expected to drop on Netflix in January 2024.
