Looks like all is not well between filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga and lyricist Javed Akhtar. Recently, Javed Akhtar said that Animal is a ‘dangerous’ film for the society, underlining how badly women are portrayed in the crime-thriller. For the unfamiliar, Javed Akhtar became a recipient of the Padma Bhushan Award in 2007. Soon after the lyricist shared his opinion publicly, it invited mixed reactions on the internet. Today, Sandeep Reddy Vanga has spoken about the development.
In an interview with journalist Siddharth Kannan, Sandeep Reddy Vanga shared in detail how he felt after knowing about Javed Akhtar’s view about Animal. At first, Sandeep asserted that Javed has not seen the film, which is why he is making such a statement publicly. Additionally, Sandeep expressed that Javed should have a look at his son Farhan Akhtar’s creation, the Mirzapur series, which is full of violence, bloodshed, and foul language.
Sandeep said, “Firstly, it is clear that he (Javed) did not see the film. Absolutely clear! If a person comments on the film without seeing it, then what can I say? He might be a critic or a great writer, but he is talking about my work at the end of the day. I feel bad hearing this comment.”
“Why don’t such people check on their surroundings first? If such comments come from a respectable personality, then I would sincerely think about it. But he is not the one. Why did he (Javed) not tell the same comment to his son, Farhan – when he was producing Mirzapur? All the foul language and bad phrases used across the globe are present in Mirzapur series. Also, if you happen to see the Telugu version of the series, then you will surely feel like puking. Overall, I can say that such a comment creates a joke on you. See your son’s work first and then we can talk, maybe,” Sandeep wrapped up the conversation.
