Animal on OTT — Ranbir Kapoor's film to release with additional 30 minutes?

Ranbir Kapoor's Animal is all set to be released in cinemas on December 1, 2023. Check out the expected runtime of the film's OTT version.

Last week, Sandeep Reddy Vanga confirmed his film Animal was given A certificate by CBFC. The movie stars Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, and Bobby Deol. While informing everyone about Animal's certification, the filmmaker also revealed its runtime. The theatrical version of Animal is 3 hours 21 minutes long.

Having said that, the OTT version of the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer is expected to be longer. According to media reports, Animal will have an extended version on a streaming platform.

All you need to know about Animal on OTT

As per several media reports, Animal will be released on an OTT platform with an additional 30 minutes. If this happens to be true, the total runtime of Sandeep's film would be 3 hours and 51 minutes on a streaming platform. If Animal's poster is anything to go with, the movie will premiere on Netflix once the film's theatrical run ends.

Ranbir Kapoor on Animal's runtime

Yesterday, at a promotional event, Ranbir Kapoor opened up about the long runtime of his movie Animal. "We are releasing a film this long not because we feel arrogant about it. We felt that the story required that time to reach the audience in the best way possible. We have seen a cut of this film which was 3 hours and 49 minutes. And that cut was also entertaining. Sandeep has worked very hard to bring the length down. We are hoping that the audience doesn’t get panicked by the length and experience cinema at its best," said Kapoor.

About Animal

This film marks Ranbir's first collaboration with Sandeep. The actor will be sharing screen space with Rashmika, who plays his love interest. On the other hand, Anil Kapoor will be seen as Ranbir's father whereas Bobby is the antagonist of the movie.

Animal is set for theatrical release on December 1, 2023. It will clash with Vicky Kaushal's Sam Bahadur at the box office. The movie is directed by Meghna Gulzar.
