Animal - Here's the story behind Bobby Deol's viral 'Jamal Kudu' dance

Bobby Deol reveals details about how he got the idea of keeping the glass on his head in the song.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal continues getting mixed responses from the audience, however, the songs of the film are still a hit. One of them is Bobby Deol's entry song, Jamal Kudu which the makers recently released due to high demand by the fans.

Breaking numerous records at the box office, Bobby Deol's big-screen comeback has proven to be a hit. Bobby's entry in the film, where he is dancing to the song Jamal Kudu, is one scene that is gaining a lot of attention on social media. The actor has shared his thoughts on the scene and the idea of keeping a glass on his head in an interview with Bollywood Spy.

Bobby stated, "It is crazy, people are keeping a glass on their dog's head and dancing," in an interview with Bollywood Spy. "Somebody had worn an exact same suit like mine. It’s just overwhelming to see all of that."

The actor went on to say that Sandeep Reddy Vanga had made him listen to the music beforehand. Bobby also appreciated Vanga for his wonderful musical taste. He further revealed that after finding the song, he told him, "I'll play this during your introduction."

Bobby, who plays the role of Abrar Haque in the film said, "When we started shooting, the choreographer said, ‘You do it.’ I was like, ‘what will I do?’ I started dancing and he told me, “No, No. Don’t do it like Bobby Deol.’ Then Saurabh, who plays my brother, I told him, ‘Can you do and show? How would you do it?’”

Bobby added that he suddenly remembered the time when he was small and used to go to Punjab, he thought back to the times they used to get wasted and keep glasses on their head. "I never understood why we did it. It suddenly came in my mind and I did that. Sandeep liked it,” he said.

More about the song Jamal Kudu

The song was originally composed by Iran's Khatareh Group. The song's original Iranian title is Jamaal Jamaaloo, and it dates back approximately ten years. Harshvardhan Rameshwar has reworked the song. In the 1950s, Kharazemi Girls High School sang the song for the first time. The song gained popularity in Iranian weddings over time.

Written and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Animal also stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Tripti Dimri, and Rashmika Mandanna in pivotal roles.
