The upcoming web series will premiere on Disney+Hotstar.
The Night Manager’s Hindi adaptation has finally got a title.The upcoming web series will be called Captain.
The news, obtained via Global Circulate, comes more than a year after the Hindi remake was announced. The upcoming web series stars Anil Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sobhita Dhulipala in pivotal roles. The series was filmed extensively in Sri Lanka earlier this year. Captain had gone on floors earlier this year.
The upcoming series is based on the British limited series The Night Manager, which starred Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie, Olivia Colman, Tom Hollander, David Harewood and Elizabeth Debicki in prominent roles. The BBC series is adapted from the 1993 novel of the same name written by John le Carré. The show revolves around the story of Jonathan Pine, the night manager of a hotel who is recruited by a government official on a mission to infiltrate the operations of a dangerous weapons dealer.
Anil will essay the character played by Hugh, while Aditya will star as Tom’s character. Sobhita is expected to play Elizabeth’s character. Sandeep Modi has directed Captain. Preity Zinta and Banijay Asia are the producers of the show, which will reportedly consist of six episodes like its British counterpart.
Captain will premiere on Disney+Hotstar sometime next year. An exact release date is yet to be announced.
Meanwhile Anil will next be seen in the Karan Johar production JugJugg Jeeyo, which is scheduled for release on June 24. The Raj Mehta directorial also stars Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani and Neetu Kapoor in pivotal roles. Aditya will next be seen in the Kapil Verma directoiral Rashtra Kavach Om, which also stars Sanjana Sanghi. The film will be released on July 1. Sobhita’s upcoming projects include Made in Heaven season 2 and Dev Patel’s directorial debut Monkey Man, which also stars Patel and Sikandar Kher.
