The teaser of Arjun Das starrer Aneethi has been released and has been receiving highly positive reviews from viewers. The project is helmed by the National Award-winning director Vasanthabalan. The teaser and title were revealed by the actor Sivakarthikeyan who expressed his gratitude and wished the team all victory.
In the teaser, the actor is seen with a blood-covered face and maniacal smile breaking a door open with an axe.
Arjun Das made a debut in the film industry with Perumaan but gained fame with his role as a substance-abusing gangster in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Kaithi in 2019. In 2020, he starred as Vinod, an alcoholic and depressed cricket coach guilt-ridden over the death of his best friend in the Netflix release Andhaghaaram. He then went on to collaborate with Lokesh Kanagaraj for a second time in the Vijay-Vijay Sethupathi starrer Master in which he played a sub-antagonistic crony of Vijay Sethupathi’s Bhavani. The actor is known for his extreme bass-baritone voice which makes him stand out from other antagonists.
The actor is currently involved with Kamal Haasan’s Vikram and Kumki 2 in which he will play a character with negative shade and is also awaiting the release of his much-delayed film Dhruva Natchathiram.
On the other hand, Vasanthabalan is known as an extremely selective director, having done only seven movies in 20 years. All of his directorial including Angadi Theru, and Kaaviya Thalaivan won praises from critics. His second movie Veyil starring Pasupathy and Bharath in lead roles went on to win the National Award. Kaaviya Thalaivan was his last project starring Prithviraj and Siddharth in lead roles set in the backdrop of the Indian freedom struggle. The movie gained favourable reviews.
Aneethi will have Sarpatta Parambarai fame Dushara Vijayan as the female lead. The movie will also star familiar faces like Vanitha Vijaykumar, and Arjun Chidambaram of Nerkonda Paarvai fame in pivotal roles. Suresh Chakravarthi and Aranthangi Nisha of Bigg Boss Tamil will also make appearances in the film. Music is composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar who is collaborating with Vasanthabalan for the second time after Jail, a 2020 movie that got delayed because of the prevailing pandemic.
