Anees Bazmee and Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s professional relationship floating on turbulent waters? Here is what we know.
Anees Bazmee steps back from Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s next film.
Looks like all is not well between filmmaker Anees Bazmee and actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui. If reports are to be believed, the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 filmmaker has withdrawn – as a presenter – from Nawazuddin starrer ‘Section 108’ owing to certain issues.
Are Anees Bazmee and Nawazuddin Siddiqui not on good terms?
Speaking to news outlet HT City recently, Anees said, “Yes, I am no longer associated with the project.” When asked about the reason behind this dramatic move, the director mentioned nothing in particular. “I just thought of focusing on other projects,” said the director. Currently, the eminent filmmaker is focusing on the third part of the Bhool Bhulaiyyaa franchise.
Sources close to the development further told the news portal that Anees Bazmee had put forth certain clauses that were difficult to meet. The entire team could not agree to it and hence the Welcome Back filmmaker decided to part ways.
This development comes at a time when Nawazuddin is shooting for Section 108. Only time will tell whether this move by Anees will hamper the shooting process. The news outlet furthermore revealed how the cast and crew feel about Anees’ decision. “While he (Anees) had not invested any money in the project, his taking a step back might affect the film later,” told an insider to HT City.
About Section 108
Earlier this August, the creators of the forthcoming Hindi movie 'Section 108,' featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Regina Cassandra as the main characters, revealed a glimpse of the film through its teaser.
The teaser sets the stage by introducing Regina's character, who brings a case to the notice of lawyer Tahoor Khan, portrayed by Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Section 108 is directed by Rasikh Khan and backed by CinemaWala Ventures and Three Arrows Production.
