Filmmaker Priyadarshan started the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise in 2007 with Akshay Kumar in the lead role. Following the first part's success, a sequel to Bhool Bhulaiyaa was made in 2022. Anees Bazmee donned the director's hat for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 with Kartik Aaryan in the lead role. As of today, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is ready to be released but Akshay has been missing since two installments. Anees Bazmee has opened up about the actor's possible cameo in the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise.

Will Akshay Kumar make a cameo in Bhool Bhulaiyaa world?

In an interview with News18, Anees Bamee recalled why Akshay Kumar couldn't make a cameo appearance in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. The filmmaker added that Kumar would've done a 'brilliant job' in a film like BB 2.

When asked if he will reach out to Akshay for upcoming Bhool Bhulaiyaa installments, the director said, "I know that I can reach out to him anytime. I don’t even need to think twice before doing that. I’ve a lot of love for him. Mujhe lagta hai ki mera ek haq hai unpe (I feel I have that right)," he said.

The director further mentioned that he can 'insist and coax' Akshay to play a character in his movies. "Bahot kam log hai jinke upar main aisa haq jata sakta hoon. That’s the kind of relationship I’ve with him. And if a character or a cameo suits him, he’ll do it for sure," stated Bazmee.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and its box office clash

Meanwhile, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 marks Kartik Aaryan's return as Rooh Baba and Vidya Balan's comeback in the horror comedy franchise. They're joined by Madhuri Dixit Nene and Triptii Dimri in the film. Helmed by Anees, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 also features Sanjay Mishra, Rajpal Yadav, and many others.
