The star is all set to feature in one of the biggest action ensembles ever.
Renowned actor Andy Garcia has joined the stellar cast of the fourth instalment of The Expendables which is an action franchise from Lionsgate and Millennium Media, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed. The American ensemble action-thriller franchise will see Jason Statham in the lead role along with Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture and Sylvester Stallone, who are set to reprise their roles from the previous three instalments. In addition to that Curtis, “50 Cent” Jackson, Megan Fox and Tony Jaa will also feature in the action-packed saga.
Scott Waugh will helm the fourth instalment of The Expendables franchise and the shooting is set to go on floors by October this year. The script is penned by Spenser Cohen with revisions and changes made by Max Adams and John Joseph Connolly. Further updates on the plot of the movie are kept under wraps for now. However, the theme will be focusing on a group of veteran mercenaries once again.
The movie is bankrolled by Statham, Kevin King Templeton and Millennium's Les Weldon, Yariv Lerner, Jeffrey Greenstein and Jonathan Yunger.
Garcia is presently shooting for a modern-day remake of the Disney movie Father of the Bride wherein he essays the role of the patriarch. He also bankrolls the Warners movie. The movie is directed by Gaz Alazraki and written by Matt Lopez. Along with the Disney project, Garcia has signed for multiple projects including indie Big Gold Brick with Oscar Isaac, Thor Freudenthal’s teen drama Words on Bathroom Wall and action pic Redemption Day.
