Andor has been in the works by Lucasfilms for some time now and the makers have finally released the first official trailer. The mini-series is a prequel to the highly successful Rogue One.

The trailer shows panic in a world in a galaxy far far away as the Galactic Empire has taken over and is everywhere, ruling with an iron fist. The first part of the trailer reveals how lives have turned upside down following the Empire taking over. We also get a look at people standing up, forming a rebellion. We also get a look at Cassian Andor, played by Diego Luna.

Luna reprises the role of the rebel spy from the prequel film, Rogue One. Fellow Star Wars vets Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera and Genevieve O'Reilly as Mon Mothma will also appear in Andor. Adria Arjona, Fiona Shaw, Denise Gough and Kyle Soller are the actors making their Star Wars debut with the show.

The show will follow Andor in his early days and how he turns into a rebel spy, with the hope of trying to bring down the Empire and their and their cruel rule. The show is set five years before the events of Rogue One, which in itself, was set only a week before the events of Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, creator Tony Gilroy has said that 12 episodes have been filmed for the first season, with 12 more planned for the second season. The second season will cover the four years before Rogue One, with its final scene leading us straight to the events of Rogue One.

Rogue One was a massive hit, following Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and Andor as they infiltrate an Imperial military base that held the plans for the Death Stars. The movie made over a billion dollars at the box office, setting up the Andor spinoff series.

The trailer also confirms that Andor will start streaming on Disney+ Hotstar on August 31.
