Andhakaara, which stars Chandhunadh and Divya Pillai in the lead roles, released in theatres on February 16.
In a conversation with OTTplay, the director of the Malayalam movie Andhakaara, Vasudev Sanal, asserted that this is the ideal time for a movie to be released in theatres. He clarified that people would undoubtedly want to experience a variety of genres on a big screen since so many films are currently doing well and drawing bigger crowds to theatres. On February 16, Andhakaara, which stars Chandhunadh and Divya Pillai in the lead roles, was released throughout the state.
The director stated that he never had any doubts about releasing the action thriller alongside Mammootty's eagerly awaited Bramayugam. "I have faith in my work and firmly believe that every movie has the potential to be watched by audiences in theatres. I never considered delaying the release as a result," he stated.

Vasudev went on to say that the audience is responding favourably to Andhakaara, calling it an intriguing movie. "Numerous people have informed me that the film is lag-free and keeps viewers glued to the screen. Some others said that the movie has a number of unsettling scenes," he continued.
The majority of the set scenes in the film were shot in Kochi. The female lead, Divya Pillai, received praise from the director for her efforts on this project. “She has undergone significant physical strain in order to play her character in Andhakaara. Playing this role is emotionally taxing, but Divya has given it her all," he remarked.
Regarding the ensemble in this movie, Vasudev claimed that each actor had done their part to perfection. “We decided to cast Chandhunadh because he is currently opting to play varied characters. Divya was selected in the meantime after seeing her performance in Tovino Thomas' Kala,” he added.

He continued by saying that although he did not intentionally make a violent movie, the plot and the characters' mental states demanded it. He claimed that "the violent state of their minds is reflected in their actions."
According to Vasudev, Andhakaara revolves around a mafia that handles a major crime in our society. "It is a gripping journey that starts with a character and eventually unravels the problems within this mafia group and how they try to find a solution," he went on.
Dheeraj Denny, Vinod Sagar, Sudheer Karamana, and Antony Henry are also playing pivotal roles in Andhakaara. Sajeer Gafur has bankrolled this film under the banner of Ace of Hearts Cine Productions. Debutants Arjun Sankar and Prasanth Nadeshan have penned the screenplay for the movie.
