The sports drama, simultaneously made in Telugu and Hindi, will mark Ananya's Telugu cinema debut
Ananya Panday, who bagged a meaty role in the Karan Johar production Gehraiyaan earlier this year, is getting ready for another major theatrical release from his banner, Dharma Movies, later this year. No prizes for guessing that we're talking about Liger! Liger, directed by Puri Jagannadh, has Ananya paired alongside Vijay Deverakonda for the first time in her career. That's not all, the sports drama, simultaneously shot in Telugu and Hindi, will be her first project in Telugu cinema.
Liger has wrapped its shoot earlier this year and the post-production formalities are progressing at a brisk pace. Earlier this week, Ananya has begun dubbing for the Hindi version of the film earlier this week. She added, 'Time to dub', while offering a glimpse into her dialogues from Liger and also took netizens through a few seconds from a scene in the film with Vijay Deverakonda.
The makers, sharing the video, tweeted, "The Fascinating Diva 💫@ananyapandayy begins dubbing🎙for #LIGER 🦁🔀🐯 #VaatLagaDenge 🤙🏾 @TheDeverakonda @MikeTyson #PuriJagannadh @karanjohar @Charmmeofficial @DharmaMovies @PuriConnects @apoorvamehta18 @IamVishuReddy." A few days ago, even boxing legend Mike Tyson completed dubbing for Liger. He'll be seen in an extended appearance in the film.
Puri Jagannadh, Charmme Kaur, Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta are jointly producing the film under Puri Connects and Dharma Productions. Vishnu Sarma is the cinematographer while Junaid Siddiqui is the editor. Kecha is the action director and Jonny Shaik Basha heads the art direction team. Ramya Krishnan, Ronit Roy, Vishu Reddy, Ali, Makarand Desh Pandey and Getup Srinu also play pivotal roles in Liger. Liger releases in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam on August 25.
