Ananya Panday opens up about Siddhant Chaturvedi's 'struggle' comment: 'This insider-outsider is such...'

Ananya Panday recently shared her thoughts about Siddhant Chaturvedi's old 'struggle' comment. The actress jokingly said that Chaturvedi was simply 'waiting to blurt it out'.

Siddhant Chaturvedi's comment about the 'struggle' of a star kid had created a stir online a few years ago. In a roundtable conversation, Siddhant reacted to Ananya Panday discussing nepotism and their share of struggles. To this, the actor had said, "When their struggles begin, is when our dreams get realised!" However, this statement didn't affect Siddhant and Ananya's friendship. In a recent interview with Mid-Day, the actress joked about the whole matter.

Speaking with the tabloid, Ananya Panday joked about Siddhant Chaturvedi's 'struggle' comment. "I think Siddhant had just written that line in a hidden notebook and was simply waiting to blurt it out," she said. The actress added that she could joke about this incident as Siddhant is one of her closest friends in the industry. "This insider-outsider is such a dividing line, anyway," quipped Ananya.

The actress stated she only trying to say that 'everybody has a different story'. "What I was trying to say is everybody has a different story. You have to eventually resonate with audiences. And many people with film backgrounds, don’t; several from outside, do," she added.

When Siddhant Chaturvedi clarified his comment

In an interview with India Today, Siddhant Chaturvedi revealed people called him 'arrogant' after his struggle comment about Ananya. Clarifying his comment, Siddhant said, "Honestly, it’s not arrogance, it’s just confidence. I feel it’s hard to survive in this industry if you don’t speak up for yourself. Chances are that others will keep pressurizing you from time to time if you don’t know your self-worth and value."

Meanwhile, Ananya and Siddhant have worked together on two projects - Gehraiyaan and Kho Gaye Hum Kahan. A spoof of Siddhant's 'struggle' comment was also made in Ananya's web show Call Me Bae. The series premiered on Amazon Prime Video.
