An Action Hero: Ayushmann Khurrana pens a heartfelt note

An Action Hero, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Jaideep Ahlawat, was released on Friday, December 2. The movie has received a lot of positive feedback. Having said that, it is sad that the positive reviews haven't resulted in significant attendance at the box office. Team "An Action Hero" is still holding out hope, though.

Regarding the reviews the movie is receiving, Ayushmann and producer Aanand L Rai have now written a heartfelt note on social media. The note mentioned that this was the crew's debut movie, including director Anirudh Iyer, for the majority of them. Since it's their first action movie, it also looks to be a first for Ayushmann and Aanand.

The note read, "As a team we are aligned and inclined to try and cause creative disruption." They continued by saying that they were touched by the love and positive comments for "An Action Hero" and that they hoped this would lead to an increase of moviegoers. The note further read, “We are grateful for the love that's coming our way for An Action Hero. It validates our stance of walking the road less travelled, to take risks and hopefully contribute to making our industry a more diverse storytelling entity. For us, An Action Hero is a rare script, a film that was meant to push the envelope of creativity and we hope you continue giving it love and appreciation in the days to come. Keep loving and supporting!”

"An Action Hero" made roughly Rs 1.25 crore on its first day of release, followed by about Rs 2 crore on day two. Even though the movie is receiving excellent reviews, 'Drishyam 2' is still in the lead despite being in its third week. Due to this and Varun Dhawan's "Bhediya," which also stars Ajay Devgn, the movie is up against stiff competition. Ayushmann portrays the part of an actor in the film An Action Hero, which contains humour and a lot more than simply action.
