Amyra Dastur was part of Saif Ali Khan's web show Tandav.
Bollywood actress Amyra Dastur recently opened up about working on OTT platforms. She went on to talk about how working in the digital world is different from films.
The biggest difference, she pointed out, is in casting. The actress stated that people are not cast on OTT due to their last name.
“I feel like OTT has changed the game in casting. The audience also knows that people are being cast because of skill and not last name,” she told IANS.
In the same interview, the actress mentioned that the digital platforms provide better opportunities to writers and filmmakers, more than actors.
“Any good show has done well because of the writers. It is easy for us, actors, as we get lines but the writers have to write everything and people are seeing that. OTT has given us some of India’s greatest writers today,” Dastur mentioned.
Interestingly, actor-comedian Gaurav Gera had pointed out the same in his interview a few days back. While talking to RepublicWorld, the actor said that working for a web show is smoother, since the script does not change every day.
Dastur, who has been part of many Bollywood films like Prassthanam, Made In China and Judgementall Hai Kya, worked in Saif Ali Khan’s debut web series Tandav (which marked her digital debut as well). The web series became one of the most popular shows of 2021.
More recently, she was seen in the music video called Wah Ji Wah which has been crooned by Punjabi singer Gurnazar Chattha.
