The provisionally titled Amma marks the conclusion of Sushmita Sen's search for an impactful narrative after Aarya. In the six-part series, she will portray a transgender woman based on the activist Gauri Sawant.

As per Mid-day, the series' creator, Ravi Jadhav, plans to begin filming it on October 10 at Ellora Studios in Dahisar. A source told the tabloid that the show will need 25 to 50 trans artists per day because the plot will centre on the protagonist's battle to become India's first transgender mother. A total of 300 transgender performers have been hired for the crucial crowd sequences that will be filmed over the course of the upcoming month. Two weeks of filming will take place at the Dahisar studio before the cast and crew relocate to the Lata Kunj villa in Irla. For the project that will last till November 7, portions of the bungalow have been rebuilt.

In 2000, transgender rights advocate Sawant established the Sakhi Char Chowghi Trust. The NGO encourages safe sex and offers counseling to transsexual individuals. Along with focusing on Sawant's harrowing journey, the series will also highlight the lovely mother-daughter relationship.

In the earlier reports of Peeping Moon, a source revealed that Sushmita adored this character. Gauri is a brave, kind-hearted, and determined woman who is battling against all difficulties for the transgender population in India.

Gauri's bravery astounded Sushmita, who accepted to play the lead role. The six-episode drama will focus on several facets of Sawant's life, including the difficulties she faced, her journey, and her close bond with her daughter. By the end of November, the OTT series is supposed to start shooting. The third season of Aarya's filming will then begin early the following year.

Arjun Singgh Baran and Kartik D Nishandar are the producers of the next web series for Global Sports Entertainment and Media Solutions.
