Bade Miyan Chote Miyan - Amitabh Bachchan, Govinda

Amitabh Bachchan might be one Bollywood actor who has seen the lowest of lows along with the highest of highs. He has gone bankrupt, his movies have not worked and he was rejected by the media itself but today, once again, the megastar enjoys a massive fan following and his status in the industry. Although he receives a lot of love today, back when he worked on David Dhawan’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, he was not at all welcomed on the sets, according to imdB. On today’s date, the movie is not only recreated but the title song of Akshay Kumar-Tiger Shroff’s film has taken the internet by storm.

Amitabh Bachchan not welcomed on Bade Miyan Chote Miyan sets

Amitabh Bachchan suffered a series of flops (much like Akshay Kumar in today’s time) till Bade Miyan Chote Miyan happened to him in 1998. Since none of his comeback films worked, nobody was too keen on working with the actor on the film. He was cast opposite Govinda, who was a hit with David Dhawan for the longest time.

One of the actor’s last movies as a lead

Amitabh Bachchan switched to ensemble films and playing an important part in them after Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Lal Badshah. From playing the leading role in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan opposite Govinda to playing a central character in Mohabbatein, he made a switch and that clearly worked for him. Big B tried to make a comeback in solo movies but was only fairly successful in them. While Aag failed at the Box Office, Cheeni Kum found an audience but they all took too many years to come through.

An interesting fact about Big B in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is the only time that Amitabh Bachchan shared screen space with Madhuri Dixit. She appeared in the popular track, Makhna. The newest version of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, has already recreated the title song and we hear Makhna is also a part of the movie. So, it’s just a matter of time before we hear that too.
