Amitabh Bachchan cross examining Emraan Hashmi in Chehre
The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the film industry very bad too, leading to not just several delays in filming and release of movies and a rise in production costs but also loss of jobs and pay for many artists and crew members. Probably that's why Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan did not charge a penny for his upcoming film Chehre, which also suffered several delays due to the pandemic.
In a recent interview with Peeping Moon, the producer Anand Pandit said that Big B did not charge any fee to do the film, in fact, he took care of his own expenses for international travel and other miscellaneous things. He further said, "To avoid any trouble while filing the tax books we decided to give the friendly appearance credits to Amit Ji. Sir was so professional and committed that he also put his own money to commute."
Rumi Jaffery who is popularly known for his comedy films has directed this psychological thriller. Chehre features Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi in the lead roles wherein the former will be seen as a lawyer.
Meanwhile, the trailer sets the film taking place in a snowcovered hill station, which is 285 km away from Delhi. Emraan's character is invited by Bachchan's character to a beautiful mansion after his car breaks down in the middle of the road. Big B then asks him to participate in a game, a mock trial, as an accused. The mock trial turns into a life-threatening situation and Hashmi is seen running for his life and merely escaping death when he is attacked with a knife.
Apart from them, the film also features Annu Kapoor, Krystle D'Souza, Dhritiman Chatterjee, Raghuvir Yadav, Siddhanth Kapoor and Rhea Chakraborty in key roles. The film is set to hit theatres tomorrow on August 27.
