Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi starrer Chehre has finally got an OTT release. The film is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video days after its theatrical release. The film directed by Rumy Jafry is penned by Ranjit Kapoor. Along with Bachchan and Emraan, Chehre also features Annu Kapoor, Raghubir Yadav and Dhritiman Chatterjee in supporting roles. Amazon Prime Video took to their social media pages and announced the mystery thriller's OTT release.
They captioned it as "A dangerous snowstorm in the mountains. an ad agency executive. an old man who’s a criminal lawyer. and his clan of veteran friends. we hope you also have a penchant for real-life games. #ChehreOnPrime, watch now."
Krystle D'Souza, Rhea Chakraborty, Siddhanth Kapoor Samir Soni and Alexx O'Nell are also a part of Chehre in pivotal roles.
The film was all set for a theatrical release in April this year. But due to the second wave of coronavirus pandemic, the film got postponed and finally hit the big screens in August.
Earlier during an interaction with ETimes, Rumy had spoken about casting Emraan in the film. The filmmaker had said, "After we finalised Amitabh Bachchan for Chehre we started looking for other actors. I was looking for the second lead and Emraan fit right into the character I had envisioned."
Jafry also said that Emraan's professionalism is similar to Emraan and added that he is 'dedicated, hardworking and allows nothing to interfere with his work.'
Rumy also revealed that Emraan is very involved in the work he does and he wanted somebody just like him for Chehre. He shared that when Emraan too loved his character when they approached him for the film and was happy to come on board.
The director concluded by saying, "Emraan’s work has turned out to be even better than I expected."
Chehre is the third Bollywood film after Bell Bottom and Thalaivii which streamed on OTT days after its theatrical release.
