Actor Trisha, currently at the centre of a fresh controversy, expressed her joy upon joining the sets of director Mani Ratnam's upcoming movie, Thug Life . She shared her excitement on her social media page, revealing a glimpse of the scripts detailing her scenes in the movie. Sharing the image on her Instagram story, she wrote, "Days like today."

Trisha will be portraying the female lead role in Thug Life, which also stars Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan in the lead. The film marks Trisha's second consecutive collaboration with Mani Ratnam after Ponniyin Selvan parts 1 and 2. In the two-part period drama, based on the beloved Tamil novel of the same name, she played the key role of Kundavai.

Mani Ratnam once again roped in Trisha for Thug Life, which is anticipated to be one of the most innovative movies in his career. Trisha expressed her gratitude when she was officially confirmed as part of the film's cast, saying, "Blessed when dreams come true multiple times. Describing Thug Life as one of the most awaited movies in Tamil cinema would be an understatement. The film captured the audience's imagination with an ultra-sleek teaser revealing Kamal's character and his look.

The movie commenced filming earlier this year, and Hollywood studios have been enlisted to work on the project . Thug Life marks a professional reunion between Kamal and Mani Ratnam after a gap of 36 years. The film also features Dulquer Salmaan and Jayam Ravi.

Meanwhile, Trisha finds herself embroiled in a fresh controversy due to some distasteful comments made by a political leader recently. These comments have sparked massive outrage on social media, prompting a sharp reaction and threats of legal action from Trisha.
