Amazon Prime Video has released the official trailer and first look images for the highly anticipated drama series Nine Perfect Strangers, which will premiere on August 20, 2021 worldwide, excluding the US and China. The series will feature an ensemble cast including Nicole Kidman, Melissa McCarthy, Tiffany Boone, Bobby Cannavale, Luke Evans, Michael Shannon, Regina Hall, Manny Jacinto, Melvin Gregg, Samara Weaving and Asher Keddie.
The series is based on The New York Times bestselling book from Australian author Liane Moriarty. Nine Perfect Strangers is produced by the same team behind the production of Big Little Lies and The Undoing. This will also be the first project where Nicole Kidman and Melissa McCarthy share the screen.
Nine Perfect Strangers was filmed in Australia and is set in the backdrop of a boutique health and wellness resort that promises healing and transformation. The trailer reveals that nine stressed city dwellers come to the resort for a ten-day retreat to improve their way of living. The resort’s director Masha, played by Nicole Kidman, takes care of them. She tries to reinvigorate the tired minds and bodies of these nine guests. However these nine strangers have no idea what is about to hit them.
Nine Perfect Strangers also features Luke Evans, Tiffany Boone, Bobby Cannavale, Melvin Gregg, Regina Hall, Manny Jacinto, Asher Keddie, Michael Shannon, Grace Van Patten and Samara Weaving. The Jonathan Levine directed series is executive produced by Nicole Kidman and co-written by David E Kelley and John Henry Butterworth.
The first three episodes of Nine Perfect Strangers will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on August 20, with new episodes launching on a weekly basis.
