Amazon Prime Video has released the trailer for its original Brazilian series titled Dom. This crime-drama, inspired by the real-life story of a father and a son who find themselves aligning with different sides in the war on drugs in Rio de Janeiro, is originally in Portuguese. The series will be dubbed in English, Tamil, Hindi and Telugu by Amazon for its users.
As the popularity of localized international content is surging in India, the dubbed versions of Dom are expected to cater to a larger set of audience. Amazon has already provided dubbed versions for titles like The Boys, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, Tenet, Parasite and Wonder Woman 1984.
Dom will feature eight one hour-long episodes. The series revolves around a father-son duo. The former, named Victor, is a military intelligence agent and has made it his life’s mission to win the war on drugs in Brazil. His son, Pedro, finds himself switching to the side of the enemies as a cocaine addict. Soon, he becomes the most wanted criminal in Rio de Janeiro. The series will shed light on the rampant drug abuse in Brazil and its horrific consequences on the youth of the nation while grappling with two family members often blurring the line between right and wrong.
Directed by Vicente Kubrusly and Breno Silveira, Dom stars Gabriel Leone, Flavio Tolezani, Filipe Bragança, Raquel Villar, Isabella Santoni, Ramon Francisco, Digão Ribeiro, Fabio Lago, Julia Konrad and André Mattos, among others.
Amazon Prime Video users can stream this crime-drama from June 4.
