Both Prithviraj and Nayanthara are expected to join the sets next week,
Director Alphonse Puthren has begun shooting for his first feature film, six years after Premam. The movie, which has Prithviraj and Nayanthara in the lead, went on floors in Aluva today at 3pm after a pooja function.
Prithviraj, who had wrapped up the shoot of his second directorial Bro Daddy that has Mohanlal and him in the lead, is currently back in Kerala from Hyderabad. He is expected to join the sets of Gold next week along with Nayanthara.
Alphonse was earlier supposed to shoot for Paattu, which had Fahadh Faasil and Nayanthara as part of the cast. But due to the pandemic, the dates of the actors were clashing with other projects and hence the filmmaker decided to go ahead with Gold first.
A source close to the production team had earlier told us that the movie will be similar to Alphonse's earlier Malayalam-Tamil bilingual Neram, which had Nivin Pauly and Nazriya Nazim as part of the cast. Apart from Prithviraj and Nayanthara, the movie also has Ajmal Amir in a pivotal role.
Meanwhile, Prithviraj is also expected to resume the shoot of Shaji Kailas’ Kaduva this month after Gold. The actor also has finished shooting for Rathish Ambat’s Theerpu, which is a performance-driven movie scripted by Murali Gopy and has Indrajith Sukumaran, Saiju Kurup, Vijay Babu and Isha Talwar as part of the cast.
Gold marks the first collaboration of Prithviraj and Nayanthara, though the duo has shared screen space in a song in the multi-starrer Twenty-20 a decade ago.
