Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna wrap Pushpa 2 with last-minute song shoot in Hyderabad

Allu Arjun’s packed schedule delayed the filming of a song for Pushpa 2 until the last minute.

The masses, who have been anticipating Pushpa 2: The Rule for a few months, have begun counting down to its release in just eight days. Ahead of the release, the lead actors are usually out and about in the last two weeks promoting the film. Allu Arjun's massive release, though, changes things slightly. The action drama filming kept the star occupied until yesterday.

Final shot completed just days before release

As per Mid Day, the romantic song that Arjun and leading woman Rashmika Mandanna filmed in Hyderabad from November 23 to 26 was reportedly the last shot before director Sukumar declared the film wrapped.

Well, that's almost there. Sukumar began filming the ambitious sequel in October 2022, with the initial plan to release it on Independence Day in 2024. Nevertheless, the makers ultimately chose December 5 as the release date. According to reports, the actors hastily returned to the Pushpa 2 set just days after the trailer's November 17 launch in Patna.

Romantic song details and challenges

A source told the tabloid that Arjun and Rashmika departed for Hyderabad on November 21 to film their final romantic song, following their promotional tour for Kissik in Chennai. Sekhar Vulli VJ and Ganesh Acharya were the choreographers, while Devi Sri Prasad composed the music. Rashmika wore a saree, and the star sported his flamboyant style as filming began on November 23. After three days of shooting, the project finally wrapped up on November 26.

When the tabloid questioned why the makers waited until the last minute to include the song, the source explained that the leading man has a busy schedule. They wrapped primary photography on the film in late August, according to the insider. The original schedule called for filming to commence in early September for this project. However, Arjun had to shave his beard in order to report to the set of another movie. As a result, the song shoot experienced further delays. He faced the camera this month after growing a beard to match his appearance in Pushpa 2.

Post-production and release deadline pressures

While post-production is ongoing, rumors have circulated that Pushpa 2 which also stars Fahadh Faasil, would not be ready for its December 5 release.  The insider, nevertheless, claims the team is rushing to the goalpost. The source also mentions that Sukumar was working on the post-production at the same time.
