Allu Arjun praises Pushpa 2 director Sukumar at Mumbai event, explains why his absence speaks volumes about his work

Allu Arjun, the Pushpa 2 actor, showered praise on director Sukumar at the Mumbai promotional event for the film. He made some interesting revelations about the filmmaker, in his speech.

Allu Arjun is all set to make a comeback to the big screens with Pushpa 2: The Rule, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2021-released blockbuster, Pushpa: The Rule. The project marks the National Award-winning actor’s fourth collaboration with director Sukumar. Allu Arjun, who recently attended the Pushpa 2 promotional event in Mumbai, extensively spoke about his deep personal bond with Sukumar and heaped praise on the director for his unparalleled dedication.

The Telugu superstar, who attended the Pushpa 2: The Rule promotional event in Mumbai, heaped praise on director Sukumar for his unmatched dedication towards the craft. According to Allu Arjun, the filmmaker is keen to give the best possible cinematic experience for the audience and is still working hard on the film’s final cut. The leading man suggested that Sukumar’s dedication is unmatched, as the filmmaker even decided to skip the Mumbai event, to concentrate on making the final copy, perfect.

Allu Arjun’s bond with Sukumar

Director Sukumar and Allu Arjun’s bond started at the beginning of the actor-director duo’s respective careers. The filmmaker approached the popular star, who was struggling to find a second film after the release of his debut film Gangotri, to star in his directorial debut, Arya. The superstar, who recalled their 20-year-long journey at the Pushpa 2 promotional event, stated that Sukumar made him the star he is today.

Allu Arjun and Sukumar first teamed up in 2004 for Arya, the blockbuster romantic drama film. The popular star played the titular character, a one-sided lover in the film, which marked his second outing as a leading man. Later, in 2009, the duo reunited for Arya 2, a spiritual sequel of Arya, which featured Allu Arjun yet again in the titular role. Both Arya and Arya 2 are currently available for streaming on Sun NXT (Telugu), Zee5 (Hindi), and Amazon Prime Video. Both the films are also available on OTTplay Premium.
