Allari Naresh has made a major departure from his regular, slapstick comedies and took charge of his career ever since Maharshi hit theatres, where he received rave reviews for his performance. The courtroom drama Naandhi, further confirmed this, which performed well at the box-office and also earned critical acclaim. He has now set his eyes on a rural drama titled Itlu Maredumilli Prajaneekam, written and directed by debutant AR Mohan.
Itlu Maredumilli Prajaneekam is produced by Razesh Danda under Hasya Movies in collaboration with Zee Studios. Anandhi plays the female lead in the drama that also stars Vennela Kishore, Praveen and Sampath Raj. While the team was buoyed by the fantastic response for the teaser, they announced the release date earlier today. The film will hit screens on November 11 across the globe. The announcement, which was to happen yesterday, was postponed to mourn the death of actor Krishna's wife Indira Devi.
For the unversed, Allari Naresh plays a government official sent on election duty in the tribal area - Maredumulli in Andhra Pradesh - where takes stock of the residents' practical problems and convinces to vote. The makers have denied any similarity of the plot with Rajkummar Rao's dark comedy Newton. However, it's equally hard to ignore the fact that the premise is clearly inspired by the former. Abburi Ravi is the dialogue writer for the film while Brahma Kadali is the art director.
Raam Reddy has cranked the camera for the project and Chota K Prasad is the editor. Sekhar Master, Binny have choreographed the songs in Itlu Maredumilli.. with Pruthvi handling the stunts. Balaji Gutta is the co-producer. The film is likely to stream on ZEE5 post its theatrical release. The female lead Anandhi's earlier Telugu release was Sridevi Soda Center, currently streaming on ZEE5. Allari Naresh's previous film Naandhi can be watched on aha.
