Popular Russian model and actress Alexandra Djavi was found dead at her residence in Goa. The actress had gained popularity among cinephiles in south India after she appeared in the 2019 Tamil film Kanchana 3, alongside Raghava Lawrence.

A Russian model who became an Indian actress

Alexandra Djavi was a Russian model who came to India in the hopes of making an acting career in the country. She did manage to leave a mark before her demise on August 23, 2021.

Popular after Kanchana 3

Alexandra Djavi was a familiar face among the south Indian audiences after she appeared in a vital role opposite actor-director Raghava Lawrence in the movie Kanchana 3. She is known for playing Rosie, a ghost with a traumatic past.

The romantic song Kadhal Oru Vizhiyil, from the third sequel of Kanchana franchise, is also popular among the audiences. The actress matched steps with Raghava in the song which has been etched onto people's minds.

A victim of depression?

It is often said that there is a dark side to glamour and reportedly, Alexandra also fell prey to loneliness. As per reports on Filmibeat, North Goan village locals near her residence said that the actress was suffering from depression after a recent breakup with her boyfriend.

Sexual harassment complaint in 2019

She had also filed a sexual harassment complaint in 2019. The actress had filed an FIR against a photographer based in Chennai. The paparazzo even got arrested after her complaint.

Reportedly, her boyfriend and the photographer will be interrogated by the police soon.

Her lawyer makes a final say in the death case, for now

A Goa-based Russian consulate lawyer Vikram Varma told IANS that the post-mortem will be conducted in presence of Russian officials soon and the manner of death should be considered closely. “We should rule out any possibility of homicide because people who commit murder, sometimes disguise their acts in such a clever manner that it appears like a suicide or an accident,” he shared.
