In what's believed to be the most attended Spaces event on Twitter with over 17000 listeners tuning into the conversation, the team of Jagame Thanthiram came together to celebrate the film's soundtrack (composed by Santhosh Narayanan) on the social media handle of the South division of Sony Music. Actor Dhanush, director Karthik Subbaraj, composer Santhosh Narayan, his daughter and playback singer Dhee, lyricist Vivek were among the primary participants in this conversation. Hosted by popular stand-up comedian Alexander Babu, the engaging chat went on for a little more than two hours.

"Regardless of how much I enjoy working on a film, I remain mum about it and don't reveal my excitement before its release. However, with Jagame Thanthiram, I am extremely confident about its result and can assure that audiences are in for a spectacular treat. Karthik Subbaraj has done a terrific job in executing a film that's not only entertaining but has a larger meaning and context too. I tend to avoid Rajini-isms in my films though my director told me that it would be alright to retain them this time,” said Dhanush. “I had a ball singing and writing a song for the film. It's Santhosh Narayanan's terrific composition that inspired me to write it. I genuinely hope that the film brings in some relief for the audiences in this dreary hour," he added.

"I consider myself a very poor narrator and find it best to send the script across to people and see if it inspires them. With music too, I just send the script to Santhosh Narayanan and trust him to do the goods. He never disappoints. Santhosh and I go a long way back. We started our journeys in the film industry at the same time. There are eight songs in the film, but we had planned to use six for the theatrical version. Considering that the film is going to premiere on Netflix and we wouldn't want the songs to interrupt the flow of the narrative, we have done away with another song in the second half. However, music is a very integral aspect of the story, and these changes wouldn't affect the impact of the film by any means," Karthik Subbaraj stated.

"Karthik Subbaraj has a very special and an important position in the film industry. I see him as a perfect blend of Al Pacino, Martin Scorsese, Shankar and yet he has a voice of his own in terms of execution. He caters to the masses and classes equally and has carved a niche for himself in quick time. Karthik has terrific music sense and some of his suggestions have worked wonders for my songs. I think he has it in him to be a composer too. Jagame Thanthiram is a stylishly made film and I have no words to say on how well Dhanush has performed in the film. Even recently, when I got to know that he would be part of an international show like The Grayman, I was swelling with pride," composer Santhosh Narayanan voiced his thoughts.

From the origins of the word Rakita Rakita for one of the songs in Jagame Thanthiram to Dhanush's brief rendition and Dhee's mini concert, the conversation had a lot of takeaways for the listeners. Dhanush, currently in California to wrap up his portions for The Gray Man, also expressed his interest to host a special show of the film when the COVID-19 situation betters in Tamil Nadu. "I can't wait to come back to Namma Chennai and taste mom's food. I am missing India terribly," the star signed off.

The success and popularity of Spaces as a platform to bring these voices together and host a purposeful conversation may inspire many more films to take this route eventually. Jagame Thanthiram releases on Netflix on June 11.
