James Bond 007 is an iconic character and only an acting stalwart can fit into that role. After fans’ desire to see Paul Mescal as the new James Bond due to his impressive acting skills in Aftersun. Now, the Fleabag actor Andrew Scott is also agreeing that his co-star would don the 007 character. The film, All of Us Strangers had a successful premiere on Saturday with the star cast, Andrew Scott, Claire Foy, and Jamie Bell walking the red carpet event, alongside their director.

All of Us Strangers special screening

Based on Taichi Yamada's 1987 novel “Strangers,” All of Us Strangers had a starry special screening of the upcoming film in Los Angeles. Directed and written by Andrew Haigh, the film event was attended by all the pivotal castmates, except Paul Mescal, who is currently occupied with the shoot of Gladiator.

In a candid conversation with Variety, Andrew Scott shared his thoughts on his co-star and who could be a perfect fit for James Bond’s character after Daniel Craig’s exit.

“He’d probably be a great James Bond,” said Scott after quickly adding that he is anxiously waiting to see him in Gladiator first. “I want to see him in ‘Gladiator’ first. I’ve seen some images that are going to delight the world over,” he told the reporter.

Earlier in November, producer Barbara Broccoli confirmed that the 007 character’s 'reinvention' is underway, thus hinting at a new star to carry on the legacy.

About All of Us Strangers

All of Us Strangers narrates the story of Londoner and gay writer Adam (Scott). His life changes after having a chance encounter with a mysterious neighbor Harry (Mescal). The two begin a romantic love affair, but then the past catches up most strangely. The movie has been been the talk of the time after receiving and nominated for multiple coveted titles.

Talking about their dreamy chemistry in the film, Scott told Hollywood Reporter, “We formed a really, really close bond. I absolutely adore Paul, he was such an incredible colleague. He’s such a soulful and intelligent and hardworking actor, it was wonderful. Couldn’t have imagined doing it with anyone else.”

The 47-year-old actor also revealed that he knew Mescal only a little before beginning the shoot and how their bonding escalated during the project. During the conversation, he admitted that the All of Us Strangers script is one of the most extraordinary and tear-jerking scripts of his career.

Andrew Haigh's movie is scheduled to release theatrically on December 22.
