The South Korean Netflix series is based on Joo Dong-geun’s webtoon called Now at Our School
High school is already a tough time for teens as is, and that’s without having to deal with a zombie apocalypse. All of Us Are Dead, the South Korean drama which sees students trying to make it alive after a zombie outbreak takes over their school, premieres today on Netflix. A BTS video shows the amount of work makers put into the thrilling show.
In the video, the series director Lee JQ gives viewers an in-depth explanation about the making of the series and its story and nuances. The show revolves around the story of a zombie outbreak that happens in a small town, a high school student becoming the first one to be infected. As more students become infected and attack everyone in sight, the survivors must do whatever it takes to make it out alive without becoming infected themselves. The video also features a clip where one of the students liken the situation to one in the popular film, Train To Busan.
The director walks viewers through the thought process that went behind in giving the series a high school setting, the themes the show deals with and the reason why they chose to cast relatively unknown actors. Viewers are also introduced to the main characters and given glimpses of the ‘choreography’ that actors had to learn to properly capture the zombie-like movements.
Lee also gives viewers tips on how they should watch the series so that they can take it all in, in the best possible way.
The upcoming series, which is based on Joo Dong-geun’s webtoon called Now at Our School, also has on Kim Nam-soo as a director.
All of Us Are Dead will be available to stream on Netflix from today.
