Alia Bhatt’s Jigra release has been postponed. Jigra will now be clashing with two of the most-awaited films, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video and Deva.
Alia Bhatt-starrer Jigra, which was aiming for a September release, has now been postponed. Interestingly, the movie will release on the same day as her ‘Shaandaar’ co-star Shahid Kapoor’s movie. Rajkummar Rao’s film is also going to be out on the same day. Alia has announced the new release date for the movie as October 11.
Jigra will be clashing with two of the most-awaited films, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video and Deva. While Raaj Shaandilyaa’s Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video stars Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri, Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde star in Rosshan Andrrews’ Deva. All the movies, including Alia’s Jigra, will be out on October 11.
Alia had previously backed Darlings, which starred her, Shefali Shah and Vijay Varma. Jigra is her second production film under her banner Eternal Sunshine Productions.

Alia had signed Jigra just four months after giving birth to her daughter Raha. At a recent event, she had said that since she had the motherly instinct to protect, Jigra attracted her. The movie, she asserted, is about protecting your loved ones (thus the title, which translates to something very dear to you).
Jigra features Vedang Raina in the lead role. The actors have completed the shooting of the film and the movie is now in post-production. The film was previously scheduled for September 27 release.

Alia was seen in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The movie, helmed by Karan Johar, co-starring Ranveer Singh, worked well at the Box Office. After Jigra, the actress will be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love And War opposite Vicky Kaushal and her husband Ranbir Kapoor. The movie is yet to go on floors, since Ranbir is completing Ramayana and Vicky is working on Chhaava. Ramayana is based on the mythology, while Chhava is the story of Shivaji Maharaj’s eldest son, Chhatrapati Sambhaji.
