Looks like all is not well for superstar Alia Bhatt. If reports are to be believed, Bhatt has decided to not attend the IIFA Awards ceremony that is taking place in the UAE. Reason? Alia Bhatt's grandfather Narendra Razdan, 95, is admitted at the Breach Candy hospital in Mumbai and is struggling with a lung infection.
Today morning, fresh visuals poured in wherein Alia can be spotted travelling in her car to Breach Candy hospital. Alia and her sister Shaheen share a close bond with their grandfather and are often clicked together in family pictures.
A source close to the family, told news portal The Times of India, “Mr. Narendra Razdan is Soni Razdan’s father and Alia’s grandfather. He has been in the Breach Candy hospital for quite some time now. He had a lung infection which got worse. He’s 95, and as of now, he’s in the sunset hours.”
“Alia turned back from the airport because she didn't want to be there at the award function while her grandfather was going through a very vulnerable time," the report adds.
We hope and pray that Alia’s grandfather recovers soon.
At IIFA Awards ceremony, Alia was expected to receive the award for being the Best Actress Award for her 2022 film Gangubai Kathiawadi. The awards show is being held in Abu Dhabi these days and is attended by stylish celebrities including Salman Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Anil Kapoor, and Nora Fatehi.
On the work front, Alia Bhatt will next be seen in the film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The film is directed by Karan Johar and is expected to hit the theatres on July 28.
