Alia Bhatt opted to accept her National Award for Best Actress for Gangubai Kathiawadi at the ceremony in Delhi in her white Sabyasachi wedding saree.
On October 17, actress Alia Bhatt arrived at the National Film Awards ceremony in New Delhi wearing her wedding saree. The actress and her husband Ranbir Kapoor came to Vigyan Bhawan in the nation's capital after receiving the National Film Award for their performance in "Gangubai Kathiawadi."
The actress changed into her bridal saree, one of her most sentimental outfits, for the important day. Social media users have been gushing over the actor's appearance at the ceremony in pictures and videos that have gone viral.
Alia looked stunning in a white saree by renowned designer Sabyasachi with beautiful golden embroidery. The actor carried her outfit very differently than that of her wedding day this time. She wore a bun and a fresh set of jewelry for the occasion. She finished the look with nude lips and a bindi. She also had white roses in her hair, a style that appeared to be influenced by her Gangubai Kathiawadi character.
For the uninitiated, Alia Bhatt won the 69th National Film Award for Gangubai Kathiawadi in the category of Best Actress. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed movie is based on S Hussain Zaidi's book Mafia Queens of Mumbai. The Best Actress and best screenplay were among the two national awards the movie received.
