Alia Bhatt plays the main antagonist in her Hollywood debut.
Indian audiences have been anticipating Alia Bhatt's Hollywood debut in the Gal Gadot vehicle Heart of Stone ever since it was reported that she would be making her American debut in the film. The actor also appears to be playing the antagonist. Alia's Keya Dhawan faces off against Gal's Rachel Stone in a stylish action film, as seen in the trailer revealed at the Netflix Tudum event in Sao Paolo, Brazil.
The actor, during an interview with Mid-Day, spoke at length about her highly anticipated Hollywood debut before the trailer for the film was released at the event. In the first place, it was a very special film for her to be a part of. It was shot during a period of great personal growth and expansion, when she felt ready to make her Hollywood debut. While doing so, though, Alia met some incredible people and had a fantastic time; she was just excited for the world to see the trailer.
When asked what she thought it would be like based on the trailer, Alia answered that she had seen the trailer and the film as well. The actor added that it's better than she could have ever anticipated. Tom Harper, the director, has done an excellent job. The actor doesn't want to spoil her movie for anyone, but she does hope the trailer generates some buzz.
The amount of time Indian performers spend on screen in Hollywood productions is often a topic of discussion. Alia answered, "Woh toh hoga hi" when asked if she was nervous about that kind of talk. But that doesn't worry her too much since, ultimately, she thinks it's the story that matters and how it unfolds that determines the quality of the film.
On August 11, Netflix will debut Heart of Stone. Tom Harper is in charge of directing the movie, and Greg Rucka and Allison Schroeder wrote it.
