Alia Bhatt: Heart of Stone star says her character as Keya Dhawan is ‘sassy and fun’

Bollywood superstar Alia Bhatt, who is soon going to enter Hollywood with the movie Heart of Stone, describes her character as ‘sassy and fun’. Here’s why.

With less than four days remaining for Heart of Stone’s release, the team of this upcoming movie is leaving no stone unturned to promote it in a grandeur manner. From conducting numerous virtual interviews with publications to thronging social media platforms with the stills, this movie is touted to be one of Alia Bhatt’s most promising projects.

Today, in an interview with Hindustan Times, Bollywood superstar Alia Bhatt expressed what her character in the action-spy movie will be like. For those who don’t know, 30-year-old Alia will be playing the role of Keya Dhawan –an antagonist – in the digital movie.

Speaking to the news portal, Alia said, “I think there is a lot of purpose and dedication in being the bad guy in the movie because, to me, I’m not the bad guy. I think (as Keya) that I’m the right guy. Keya’s purpose, passion, and need for the want of a Heart has a purpose and has a heart. She (Keya) believes in it. Keya feels she is not the bad guy.”

“As an actor, if you fully commit to that moment, it is like displaying a character with clarity and focus. There are in-between moments where she (Keya) is being sassy and a bit heavy-handed with sarcasm which is fun, great, and built into the writing. It’s a first (Hollywood project) for me. I really had fun juicing those moments,” Alia wraps up.

About the movie

Slated to be released on Netflix on August 11, Heart of Stone is an upcoming American spy action thriller film directed by Tom Harper from a screenplay by Greg Rucka and Allison Schroeder. Besides Alia, the film features Hollywood actors Gal Gadot, Jamie Dornan, Sophie Okonedo, and Matthias Schweighöfer.

On June 18, the trailer of this project was released on Netflix’s YouTube handle. The caption of the video read, “Gal Gadot, Jamie Dornan, Alia Bhatt, Matthias Schweighöfer in HEART OF STONE. Only on Netflix August 11. Gal Gadot is Agent Rachel Stone, the only intelligence operative who stands between her global, peace-keeping organization and the loss of its most valuable — and dangerous — asset, codenamed: The Heart.”
