Director Mani Ratnam is currently working on his magnum opus project, Thug Life. It stars Kamal Haasan and Silambarasan in pivotal roles. Amid the film's ongoing schedule in Delhi, Ali Fazal has officially joined the star cast of Thug Life. The actor has expressed his happiness of being a part of filmmaker Mani Ratnam's movie. In an interview with Variety, Fazal spoke about collaborating with the maverick filmmaker and multifaceted talent Kamal Haasan.

Speaking with the international publication, Ali Fazal stated he is truly thrilled to be a part of Mani Ratnam's vision for Thug Life. The actor hoped that he could bring something significant to the canvas of the film.

"It's also an honour to work alongside Kamal Haasan sir and share notes with him on this. The opportunity to collaborate with two stalwarts of Indian cinema has been humbling. I am deeply grateful to Mani Sir for entrusting me with this role and am eager to bring it to life on screen," said Ali.

Written by Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan, Thug Life has been produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, Madras Talkies and Red Giant Movies. The star cast of the film also includes Trisha Krishnan, Dulquer Salmaan, Jayam Ravi, Joju George, Gautham Kartik and Aishwarya Lekshmi.

Ali Fazal's work front

Meanwhile, on the work front, Ali Fazal was last seen in Vishal Bhardwaj's spy-thriller, Khufiya with Tabu and Wamiqa Gabbi. The Netflix film was based on Amar Bhushan's espionage novel Escape to Nowhere. His upcoming project is the much-awaited web series Mirzapur 3, which will premiere on Amazon Prime Video. The actor will return as Guddu Bhaiya in the web show. The makers are yet to make an official announcement about the release date.
