Top producer Alex Kurtzman in CBS Studios’s roster and architect of the studio’s Star Trek universe has inked a massive new nine-figure overall deal for his Secret Hideout banner. While the financial terms are not disclosed, rumours are that the pact is in the $150 million range that puts Kurtzman in the very top tier of TV writer-producers. This agreement is expected to keep Kurtzman’s secret Hideout at CBS Studios through 2026, which gives the studio exclusive rights to the company’s projects for all platforms. This includes The New York Times at Special Bargain Rates which is a series adaptation of Stephen King’s short story.

Kurtzman has been in the studio for over a decade now. Kurtzman and his Secret Hideout signed a $25 million overall deal extension in the year 2018 with CBS Studios. The five-year deal was to have taken him through 2023. The mega producer oversees five (and counting) Star Trek shows, among others, for the studio was asked to negotiate his deal after seeing the overall deals market explode over a year ago.

Along with SVP Aaron Baiers and Robyn Johnson who is the director of development, Heather Kadin will continue to lead the Secret Hideout content team. Secret Hideout will now expand its ranks and under the new deal hiring additional executive hires.

It's the second consecutive time that Kurtzman has been re enrolled by CBS Studios with only two years left on his deal because of ample contribution to the industry. The company has also recently produced The Comey and The Man Who Fell to Earth which is yet to be released.
