John Abraham-Akshay Kumar
This Independence Day will see three big movies releasing in theatres - Khel Khel Mein, Stree 2, and Vedaa. While Khel Khel Mein is a comedy-drama starring Akshay Kumar, Vaani Kapoor, Taapsee Pannu, Fardeen Khan, and Ammy Virk, among others, Veda is an action thriller starring John Abraham and Sharvari. Stree 2, on the other hand, is a horror-comedy and stars Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. Speaking about the box office clash recently, Akshay Kumar said that it doesn't bother him and is not a big deal.
For the uninitiated, this is not the first time when Akshay Kumar and John Abraham will be locking horns on the big screens, the duo had their films clashing twice before. In 2018, Akshay's Gold was released alongside John's Satyameva Jayate, and in the year 2019, Mission Mangal and Batla House also saw an August 15 release. Both the actors have always been open about the fact that the box office clash does not affect them.
In a recent conversation with News18 Showsha, Akshay Kumar talked about the same and revealed that it doesn't bother him when his film releases on the same day as John. He also mentioned that they will be working again soon. He said, “Yes, we’ll be working again, hopefully soon. We’re very good friends. We’re close buddies. Clashes at the box office keep happening. It’s not a big deal at all. It’s just a clash and not a slash.”
